Websites

All websites are build in Adobe Dreamweaver with standard HTML and CSS. For CSS I use external stylesheets over internal (although for my own website here, I did use internal CSS) and the use of scripting is mostly limited to build in scripts from Dreamweaver. This is done to keep the loading speed from the website to a maximum since the use of extensive (overload) scripting and flash objects (or any animated objects) will slow the load time of the website down and most of the times makes the website unreadable and hard to navigate. However, this does not mean I don't use Javascript and other scripting! If you need scripting for your website it will be done in either Javascript or PHP.

NewsCamp

The NewsCamp website was created for an Italian website providing information about everything involving camping. This website is created from scratch and also the logo has been designed for this website. Although I am still very pleased with the result we agreed on not developing this website any further. There for the website online is a basic view. Although it looks very complete (and it is) the intention was to launch this website in various languages throughout Europe. At the point where we aborted the development we had a good working Italian base so this is what you can see here. Please note that by clicking the thumbnail a new window will open giving you the portal to all the languages but only the Italian link is useable. All other links are replaced with a dummy link and will not work.

JBR Photography

The intention was really just designing a logo for a personal friend who stepped in to professional photography a while ago. Over the years he has been developing a really good eye for portraits and weddings and since he was still using plain text to advertise his business I offered him to create a logo. Once I started doing that I also created this webpage based on his own JBR Photography website. It took me a short amount of time to come up with. Still I liked it myself so I decided to keep it and it's always a good thing to put up in my portfolio here. :)

Sooresi International

Sooresi International is a website I am creating for an ex-colleague of mine who is working to set up a freelance architect service for people who want to (re-)build homes in Africa. The website has to help them find information and rules in various countries. This website is still in a very early stage although the portal page and the basic setup is pretty much made. Still, I expect lots to change once materials are going to be added to the website. The website is intended to come in both English and French. All the pictures used so far are dummies.

firstprosite

First professional website published online

On September 11 2008, after barely 1 month using this website I totally remodeled the background and made some changes to the navigation and the footer. Most notable for the visitors is obviously the background change, but also the implementation of Google AdSense in the new website. Although this website had a lot of content I decided to take it all out for the sample site here. This is because all the content is pretty much the same as it is now on my main website. There for no link will work but I did leave the functionality to work to give an idea.

Try-out for first professional website

This is the first website I created with the intention of working freelance. The website was not bad at itself, but I did feel that it was just to much. After a few days I already grew tired of looking at the website and decided to start from scratch again. Although I still like certain aspects of the website, for instance the navigation, the website did not gave me good feeling and even more, did not look that professional as I wanted it to be. I did keep the logo, modifying it slightly though. This was the first website that made use extensive CSS coding and certainly learned me some new tricks. When you visit this website, you'll find (again) that all links has been taken out but I left all other functionality to work.

Personal website 2

My second personal website I created. At this point I already moved to London and I just wanted to have something for my family and friends to read (and watch) about. I started playing around with CSS just that little more to create this website but remember that the website did not work properly on Microsoft Explorer. Just now when I was adding the website to my portfolio I noticed why and actually updated the CSS code. I noticed that I have some pictures on the album section from this website, so for this website I removed all links other then the album section. You actually have something to see when you visit this website. :) Oh, this website was build with a Dutch and English section also but I did take out the Dutch one. Even when clicking on the Dutch link it will take you to the English part of site.

Personal website 1

Here it is. Probably my very first step in webdesign and for sure the very first in using CSS coding. A very basic website when it comes to coding but I still remember putting way more time in the animations (yes, the dots at the top of the page are really flickering) and the "rip-effect" at the bottom of the page. This was also my first website I published online be it on a website that offered free hosting. Soon after I published it that website went offline (or stopped offering free hosting?). I never updated or published this website again. The website was intended to be developed in Dutch and English and as most websites on my portfolio, I took out the links but left the functionality to work.
